Snow, snow, snow...

I am housebound with a huge bandage on my foot from surgery Dec. 10th 2010...I cannot wait until next week when the pins come out...
Meanwhile I watch the snow and the birds from my kitchen window. There are chickadees, nuthatches, sparrows, grackels, jays, woodpeckers, flickas, wild turkeys, and cardinals at the feeder. And a huge red tailed hawk flew by today hunting birds, he was hungry...
This painting was inspired by the sights from my window...
More snow is expected tonight and tomorrow and next week on Tuesday...the yard has mounds of snow piles and ice from the last two storms and as pretty as it is, I am tired of it. And winter is only one third done...
I'm knitting an Aran sweater, have made many pairs of socks and mittens, and try to keep hands and mind busy. When my foot is better I plan on walking and walking and walking -pent up energy must be released.

Too darn hot!

It is Spring for gosh sakes! It should be 60 degrees with rainy days and here we are in the 80's for several days! Goodness it is so hot the spring delicate flowers are wilting too fast.

I am painting pansies right now about half done. I will post when finished. I planetd flower seeeds yesterday and tilled a spot for peapods and green beans. I am hoping the deer and woodchuck do NOT eat them this year ...

Another manic Monday...

Today is run-around-day. Had to get all my jewelry re-appraised because the insurance company needed upgrades in prices to ensure that higher gold prices allowed my jewelry to be replace at current values if damaged/lost/stolen etc etc.
Everyone wants more money for everything lately!

Then, I drafted papers for Small Claims Court, to file against the man who delivered what was supposed to be 5 cords of firewood, but when stacked was only 3 1/2, and then he would not answer calls or deliver the balance due even though we paid in full! PEOPLE! This is the 2nd time this happened to us so no more Mr. Nice Guy and forgetting about it. We are filing a claim against a dishonest business person.

I never liked litigation and always avoided it but really, I am just fed up with dishonest people! What does this have to do with art you ask? Well...I'd be painting if not for this guy! So, my angst and anger and frustration must come out on canvas! But right now I am painting pansies and they are just not angry looking at all. maybe I'll put them aside and do something else for now.

Maybe a bat out of hell? HAHAHA!

Life Is Art

New Blogger here...

I paint or craft every day at least 1-2 hours and today will be no exception. But I AM tired and sore from yesterdays fiasco: The UNICEF benefit art show in Westborough MA was a flop if you ask me, or any one else who was there.

1000 tickets sold? But not one attended... except for a few friends and relations of the artists and hostess it was hot, boring and very dissappointing.

Live and learn! I am not doing any more of these, sticking to galleries and art shows I know.

After unloading the car and putting everything away, I decided to clean house, do laundry and plant some herbs in my garden. Once i fold the clothes, i am changing and relaxing my aching back muscles, maybe doing a few drawings and maybe finishing my 3rd Marilyn Monroe painting which is almost done.
